SensAction

A new sensorial experience of city tour

Description:

What:

A new service for sharing feelings and experiences centered around travellers looking for new stimulating adventures.

Where: From All Around to all Around

Why: Imagine being a tourist in Palermo. You are lost in the beauty of the baroque, in the taste of pistachio ice cream, in the sounds of the traffic and in the smell of the trash. You can try to give sense to all of these elements but it can be so hard. Being not just a tourist but an inspired traveler is a challenge.

What would happen if a local were happy and available to show you around? They can curate it to your specific needs and wants.

We want to tell the stories of these cities differently than the typical touristic way, by allowing travellers to understand the spaces through the eyes of locals. Through first hand information, we are able to give sense to what can often be an overwhelming new experiences. Experiences that are tied to the 5 senses such as smell, taste, sounds and touch.

The service offering is to connect travellers with locals, with a focus on providing multisensorial tours of the city. The user will register on a online platform, and put in the city in which they are coming from and choose the city in which they would like to find an online local guide who will provide this curated tour. Users who will take these tours and create an online map with their completed path that will indicate all the locations they visited and tag them with the senses that were activated at that moment. These maps will be placed onto the platform where other interested users can discover them as well. The value is that this platform will eventually become a crowdsourced database of all the sensorial experiences you are able to find within a city.
